The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully transported sensitive electoral materials for the upcoming Ekiti State Governorship Election and several by-elections scheduled for June 20, 2026.
According to a statement by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the operation took place between June 15 and 16 at the request of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Materials were airlifted from Abuja to designated airports in Enugu, Rivers, and Kano States.
The deployment covered:Ekiti governorship electionSenatorial by-elections in Enugu North, Nasarawa North, and Rivers South EastFederal constituency by-elections in Dawakin Kudu/Warawa (Kano) and Zuru/Shanga (Kebbi)Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, praised the personnel for their professionalism, noting that the successful mission underscores NAF’s commitment to supporting democratic institutions and national development.
Ejodame emphasized that timely delivery of sensitive materials is vital for credible elections, reinforcing public confidence in Nigeria’s democratic process.
