Former Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has praised Lionel Messi’s continued brilliance at international level, insisting that age has done little to diminish the Argentine captain’s quality on the pitch, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Onazi, who faced Messi during Nigeria’s appearances at the 2014 and 2018 World Cups, said the forward’s longevity at the top of the game was a testament to his enduring class.
“Messi, as we all know, is world class. At his age, he is still doing wonders. This is to show the level of talent and to remind everyone that age is just a number when you have class,” Onazi said.
