ABSU commences screening of first-class graduates for automatic employment

The management of Abia State University, Uturu, has commenced the screening of first-class graduates for the automatic employment announced by Governor Alex Otti during the university’s 30th–32nd convocation ceremonies held on March 27, 2026.

It was gathered that the screening commenced on Wednesday for eligible graduates who have completed the National Youth Service Corps programme, preparatory to the issuance of their employment letters.

Speaking during the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ndukwe Okeudo, expressed delight at the outstanding academic achievements of the graduates.

The VC, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Profe (Mrs.) Roseline Ndimele, noted that the university management is proud of their accomplishments and remains committed to supporting excellence and rewarding hard work.

He further stated that graduates who have successfully completed their NYSC programme are eligible to submit their application documents, while those currently serving or yet to commence the programme should return upon completion of
