The media office of the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Peter Obi, has described a recent High Court ruling in Lokoja, Kogi State, regarding the party’s registration status as a temporary setback.
According to the camp of the former governor, the decision will be challenged legally.
The reaction follows a judgment from Justice Isah Dashen, which nullified an earlier court order that had forced the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the political association.
The statement, issued on Friday by the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) and signed by its spokesperson, Idris Zekeri Jnr., noted that the group has been flooded with inquiries from journalists and concerned Nigerians following the decision.
In the statement, the media office conveyed Peter Obi’s directive urging his followers, political partners, and the general public to stay calm while the legal team finishes reviewing the judgment and prepares to file an appeal.
