Army uncovers, exhumes corpse of murdered Imo community leader, vows justice

Troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade, operating under Operation UDO KA as part of the ongoing Operation EASTERN SANITY II, have uncovered and exhumed the remains of the late Ibe Anyadu of Aggah Community in Imo State.

Anyadu was allegedly murdered by suspected members of a criminal gang recently arrested in connection with a series of violent crimes across the South-East Region of the Country.

Olabisi Ayeni, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, 82 Division Nigerian Army, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday in Enugu.

According to him, the breakthrough followed intelligence-led operations that resulted in the arrest of suspects linked to the killing of a Nigerian Army soldier and the recovery of stolen military weapons.

He explained that during interrogation, one of the suspects confessed to participating in the murder of the community leader and volunteered to lead troops to the burial site.
