Three security operatives killed as gunmen attack NIPSS in Plateau

The Plateau state police command says three security operatives were killed during an attack on the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru.

 

Alfred Alabo, spokesperson of the command, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday.

 

Reports had indicated that two soldiers and one policeman died in the attack by unknown gunmen on the institute. However, the command did not disclose the identities of the victims.

 

“The Plateau State Police Command, on a very sad note, wishes to confirm the incident that occurred in the early hours of today, 16th June 2026, involving security personnel on duty at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru,” the statement reads.

 

 

“Regrettably, three security personnel lost their lives during the incident.”
