The Ogun State Internal Revenue Service has said the digitalisation of tax administration has reduced revenue leakages and corruption to the barest minimum while promoting transparency and accountability in the system.
According to a statement, the Executive Chairman, Ogun State Internal Revenue Service, Olugbenga Olaleye, stated this during a survey interview conducted by a member of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group, Oluwayemisi Oladipupo, on the perception of the 2026 Tax Reforms in Abeokuta.
Represented by the Coordinating Director of OGIRS, Taiwo Ogundimu, Olaleye said the reforms would address inequality in the tax system and reduce the burden on low-income earners.
He said, “The introduction of digitalisation has reduced leakages and corruption to the barest minimum. The existence of tax reforms is to remove inequality among citizens and lessen the burden on low-income earners.”
