Zenith Bank Plc has secured dual honors as Africa’s Best Bank and Nigeria’s Best Bank at the recent Euromoney Awards for Excellence, cementing its position as a dominant financial lender on the continent. The Nigerian bank captured the national title for the second consecutive year, due to its glowing balance sheet, digital investments and growing regional footprint.
The awards were presented on July 16 at The Peninsula London Hotel in London. Euromoney evaluates banks based on strategy, profitability, risk management, digital transformation and stakeholder impact. This year’s awards attracted over 770 entries from financial institutions including HSBC, Morgan Stanley, Citibank, Barclays, Standard Bank and DBS Bank of Singapore.
The recognition comes after Zenith Bank reported gross earnings of N4.19 trillion in the 2025 financial year, up six percent from a year earlier. Profit after tax reached N1.04 trillion, while the bank reduced its non-performing loan ratio to 3.8 percent from
