Nigeria’s ambition to accelerate Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) broadband deployment could remain out of reach unless governments address high right-of-way (RoW) charges, strengthen infrastructure protection and reform the underlying economics of broadband deployment, according to Amin Dayekh, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of MegaMore Wireless Broadband.
Dayekh made the call on Tuesday at the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) Critical Conversation Forum on Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) 2026 in Lagos, where industry leaders examined the structural barriers slowing fibre broadband rollout despite rising demand for high-speed internet services.
Held under the theme, “Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) in Nigeria: Addressing Challenges, Strengthening Standards and Ensuring Sustainable Deployment,” the forum focused on practical solutions for expanding fibre networks beyond major cities while ensuring long-term commercial sustainability.
