Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has launched a nationwide campaign targeting cultism and other social vices under the banner of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV).
Announcing the initiative on Sunday, Force Public Relations Officer CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu said the campaign will roll out across all State Police Commands.
It focuses on tackling cultism, drug abuse, violent crime, and related social problems through grassroots sensitisation, early intervention, and community engagement.
The programme will involve partnerships with schools, communities, religious organisations, and other stakeholders to promote positive values, shield young people from criminal influences, and strengthen preventive policing efforts nationwide.
The campaign shows the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to addressing the root causes of youth involvement in crime and fostering safer communities.
