I’m President at Home – Fashola on Contesting for Nigerian Presidency

Former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, has ruled out any ambition to contest for the Presidency of Nigeria, declaring that he is already “president at home.”  

Fashola made the assertion while appearing on TVC’s Beyond The Headlines on Wednesday.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain dismissed speculations about a possible presidential run, saying he does not miss public office having served extensively in the past.

Asked directly if he would contest for the presidency, Fashola replied: “No, president of what? I’m president at home. I don’t miss public office because I have seen and done it.”

He reflected on his time in office, noting the privileges and energy required for such roles.

“There is a sense now that one can look back and say you were lucky to have done it when you did it because you were younger, much energetic, and extremely privileged,” he added.

Fashola said he now enjoys a more relaxed life,
