Nigeria records 99.6% completion rate in 3MTT assessments, expands AI talent drive

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) says it has achieved a 99.6% completion rate in assessments conducted under the Federal Government’s flagship 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, as the agency expands Nigeria’s artificial intelligence (AI) talent pipeline through new initiatives and international partnerships.

The milestone was disclosed by Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Director-General of NITDA, during the 15th West Africa Convergence Conference (WACC) 2026, where the agency also announced plans to scale advanced AI and data science training through its DeepTechReady programme and a new five-year partnership with the European Union (EU).

Represented at the event by Ijeoma Akande, Manager of NITDA’s South-West Zonal Office, the DG said the agency is moving beyond basic digital literacy to equip Nigerians with specialised skills required to drive the country’s emerging digital economy.
