1.Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have rescued nine victims who escaped from their abductors, recovered 56 rustled livestock and arrested a suspected terrorist during separate intelligence-led operations in Katsina State. The Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
2. The Federal Government has filed a 10-count charge against three men – Abdulrazak Umar a.k.a. Abu Khalifa/Abu Khalid, Yunusa Musa a.k.a. Yunusa bin Musa, and Shamsu Adamu Sani a.k.a. Abu Itisar – arrested in connection with the recent abduction of pupils and teachers of schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. The charge was filed on Friday by the Department of State Services before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The Supreme Court has affirmed the final forfeiture of seven landed properties, $2,045,000 and share certificates linked to a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, to the Federal Government of Nigeria. In a unanimous judgment yesterday, a five-member panel of the apex court, led by Justice Ibrahim Saulawa, set aside the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Lagos and affirmed the decision of a Federal High Court, Lagos.
4. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed the Presidential Executive Order on Virtual Assets Coordination, 2026, establishing a new inter-agency framework to harmonise the regulation of virtual assets and strengthen oversight of Nigeria’s rapidly expanding digital economy.
