The Nigerian Women in Information Technology (NWIIT) has sought a partnership with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to strengthen cybersecurity capacity building and digital awareness across Nigeria.
The proposal was presented during a courtesy visit by the group to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, where discussions focused on cybersecurity training, digital literacy and collaboration to combat cyber-enabled financial crimes.
The proposed partnership comes as Nigeria continues to grapple with rising cyber threats targeting individuals, businesses and public institutions. The country’s expanding digital economy, growing internet penetration and increasing adoption of digital financial services have created new opportunities for innovation, while also exposing users and institutions to heightened cyber risks.
