The first phase of Senator Sunday Marshall Katung’s free Hepatitis B vaccination programme has commenced in four Local Government Areas of Southern Kaduna as part of efforts to curb the spread of the disease across the district.

The three-day exercise began in Zangon Kataf, Kaura, Jema’a and Jaba local government areas, with vaccination centres located at primary healthcare facilities in Zonkwa, Zango Urban, Manchok, Kagoro, Kwoi, Daddu and Gidan Waya.

Speaking at the end of the first phase, the Special Adviser on Media and Communications to Senator Katung said the intervention underscored the lawmaker’s commitment to improving healthcare and reducing the burden of viral hepatitis in Kaduna South Senatorial District.

“The health of our people is wealth. This is why Senator Katung initiated this programme with the sole aim of saving lives, protecting families, and giving our children a healthier future,” he said.
