Arise News political editor, Sumner Sambo, has advised Nigerians to shift their attention from the ongoing dispute between President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, stressing that the real concern should be the misuse of public funds.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Monday, Sambo argued that political debates are overshadowing urgent national issues such as corruption, governance reforms, and education.
“Tinubu and Atiku’s disputes are distracting us a lot,” he said, noting that opposition leader Peter Obi had similarly emphasized the need to focus on pressing challenges.
Sambo highlighted allegations of embezzlement and the diversion of funds meant for the poor, insisting these should dominate public discourse.
He urged Nigerians to demand clear plans from political parties on reducing governance costs, tackling corruption, and addressing the millions of out-of-school children.
