Arsenal have agreed to a £75m fee with Newcastle for their captain, Bruno Guimaraes.
According to Sky Sports, the Brazilian has now been given permission to travel for a medical.
Guimaraes informed Newcastle bosses earlier this summer, that he wanted to join the Premier League champions if a suitable offer arrived.
If this deal goes through as expected, the Magpies will have made more than £240m from player sales this summer.
Anthony Gordon joined Barcelona in a £69.3m while Spurs signed Sandro Tonali for £100m.
Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, will now turn his attention to bolstering his defence and attack ahead of the new season.
