The Nigerian Army’s Operation FANSAN YAMMA said it has intensified efforts to rescue the abducted Chairman of Bungudu Local Government Area in Zamfara State, Nura Abdullahi.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force (North West), Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, and published on the Nigerian Army’s official X account on Saturday.
According to the statement, the incident occurred in the early hours of the day when armed terrorists attacked Abdullahi’s residence and abducted him along with members of his family after overpowering his police and vigilante detail.
The statement added, “On hearing gunshots, troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA responded immediately and swiftly moved to the scene where they engaged in hot pursuit of the terrorists leading to a fierce exchange of fire.
