Social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, VDM, accompanied operatives of the Nigeria Police Force’s Special Tactical Squad, STS, on a raid of an alleged baby factory in Karshi, Abuja, following allegations that a seven-day-old baby was sold.
The development was shared in videos posted on VDM’s official social media page, where he documented the operation carried out alongside police officers.
According to VDM, the team departed for the operation at about 4:00am. before arriving at the location around 5:01am.
“Enroute to Karshi to rescue the seven-day-old baby that was sold and also bust the baby factory. We set out at 4 a.m. with members of STS, Special Tactical Squad, Nigeria Police Force,” VDM said.
On arrival, the team encountered what VDM described as an ongoing child delivery inside the facility.
“We met an ongoing baby delivery process,” he said in the video.
During the operation, a young girl identified as the daughter of the midwife was seen wearing medical gloves, while a young boy informed the team that his mother was attending to a patient who was in labour.
A 21-year-old pregnant woman was also seen inside the building and reportedly told those present that she was married.
According to the videos, the midwife, who identified herself as being from Enugu State, admitted knowing a woman who had earlier accused the facility of operating as a baby factory.
She, however, denied the allegation, insisting that the woman was her patient, delivered safely at the facility and
