Ekiti State Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed optimism that he will secure more than 500,000 votes in the ongoing governorship election.
Oyebanji made the remarks after casting his ballot at Ward 06, Unit 03, Okelele, Ikogosi Ekiti, at about 11:38 a.m., accompanied by his wife, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji.
Commending the impressive voter turnout, the governor said the large participation reflected citizens’ growing awareness of the connection between governance and the future of the state.
Responding to questions on the APC’s campaign target, Oyebanji stated: “We should, if the processes work well and everybody votes, cross that line. That’s what I’m saying here today.”
On the conduct of the election, he expressed satisfaction but urged voters to remain patient with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), acknowledging that technical glitches were inevitable.
Oyebanji assured that INEC had promised no voter would be disenfranchised, stressing the need for cooperation and patience
